Take part in the national African American Read-In

Please join us in celebrating African American authors through the national African American Read-In, in partnership with the Scotch Plains-Fanwood schools. To participate, please submit a brief video of yourself reading a passage written by an African American author. Begin with an introduction including the name of the author and the title of the work. The passage can be anything that speaks to you - something that's beautifully written, or something that's really powerful, or something with an important message or words of wisdom - anything that sticks with you for any reason. You can simply read the passage, or also say something about why you chose the passage or what the full book/poem is about. Please keep your videos to under 3 minutes. If you have FlipGrid, or are able to load this free app and use it, please use this app for creating your video. Contact awinkler@socialjusticematters.org for the link to use to submit it.. If not, you can simply use your phone's camera or your computer to create the video. Please send your completed videos to awinkler@socialjusticematters.org by February 19th. Our videos will be combined with videos from the schools to create one large presentation. Videos received after February 19th or longer than 3 minutes cannot be included.
