Membership & Donation

Thank you for your interest in joining Social Justice Matters, Inc. We welcome your involvement. SJM members are committed to working together to foster equity and challenge racism. SJM membership requires active participation.  

 Members agree to:

Maintain regular attendance at group meetings and participate in meetings of a recognized Social Justice Matters committee or project team.

Pay annual dues. Dues for 2022 are $25.00

If you cannot commit to the level of participation membership requires, please consider becoming an SJM donor, sponsor or supporter.

From The Bylaws of Social Justice Matters, Inc. ARTICLE VI – MEMBERS

Section 1. Definition
A “member” of Social Justice Matters shall be a person who has demonstrated a commitment to the corporation through regular participation in and attendance at meetings of a recognized committee or project team of Social Justice Matters. All “members” shall be assessed annual dues in an amount established by the Board of Directors.

Section 2. Donors, Sponsors and Supporters
A “donor” of Social Justice Matters shall be a person who makes a financial contribution to the general activities of the corporation. A “member” may also be a “donor” if s/he makes a financial or in-kind contribution to the corporation in excess of the regular annual dues.

A “sponsor” of Social Justice Matters shall be a person who makes a financial contribution to one of the specific programs, projects or activities of the corporation. A “member” may also be a “sponsor” if s/he makes a financial or in-kind contribution to the corporation in excess of the regular annual dues.

A “supporter” of Social Justice Matters shall be a person who participates in the activities of the organization but who has not specifically committed to a committee or project team, and has not made a financial contribution to Social Justice Matters.

You can join SJM or make an online donation using the DONATE button below. If you prefer to write a check for your donation or membership, you can send it to P.O. Box 535, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076. Please make checks payable to Social Justice Matters and please indicate on the "For" line whether you are sending Membership Dues or a Donation to SJM (specify which). Please include your name, telephone number and email address.
