This event was held on Monday, July 20, 7:30 - 9 pm on Zoom

Social Justice Matters presents Social Determinants of Health: The Connection Between Structural Racism and Health Outcomes with guest speaker Andrea Brown, President/CEO at AB Coaching & Consulting.

Moderated by Social Justice Matters President, Joan Peters, and Board Member, Michael D. Zito, Ph.D.

In the first program in our series, Examining Systemic Racism, Andrea Brown will discuss how the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, and work impacts their health. It is no surprise to any of us that access to health care is often determined by employment and socioeconomic status. Join us for a deeper dive into how uneven delivery of services both mirrors and perpetuates institutional racism in our country.

The video, “The Real Reasons Coronavirus Hits Some Communities Harder than Others,” will be referenced in the discussion and it is requested that you watch the video prior to the event.
